These songs were conceived years ago when I was living in Tucson, AZ. After making a really intense album, I wanted to slow down, zoom in and create a short song cycle focusing on texture and mood. What resulted from the experimentation was a collection of songs, song fragments and ambient zone-outs all collaged together in a single piece of music. Lyrics took a backseat and luminous little voids started to breathe around the tighter songs. This was a really freeing album to make and is probably my most focused group of songs.
I have wanted to augment certain parts of this album with more instrumentation for a long time, and I set aside a bit of time this year to do it. The soul and skeleton of the original recording remain intact, but the additional textures and instruments help it soar a little more.
I hope you enjoy this little album...I put a lot of myself into it.
